Alma Technologies presented its silicon IP cores at VISION 2011 |
Athens, Greece, November 16, 2011 − Alma Technologies exhibited at the VISION 2011 International Trade Fair for Machine Vision, held in Stuttgart, Germany, from 8 to 10 November 2011. During the exhibition, Alma Technologies ran a live demonstration of its latest Main Profile H.264 encoder IP core. Using a low-cost Altera Cyclone III FPGA development kit powered with the H.264 IP core, Full HD video was encoded and streamed over Ethernet in real time. Video quality assessment at various bitrates was enabled through a software media player receiving, decoding and displaying the stream on a large screen monitor. The demonstration platform is available upon request for evaluating the produced video quality of the Alma Technologies H.264 IP cores. Apart from showcasing the capabilities of the Main Profile H.264 Encoder IP core, we had the great opportunity to discuss the potential that still image and video compression has in machine vision systems and to present our solutions portfolio. We got valuable feedback on the future requirements to keep providing easy to integrate, high quality solutions in this field. We would like to thank you all for stopping by our booth. Your interest inspires us to our work. We look forward to seeing you all again next year. |
